Six months later, yet the Capitol is still abuzz about the Vice Presidential Baby.

The baby, aged six months, is one of the richest children in the nation, with S100 million to her name.

Vice President Viondra DeWynter has finally named her newborn daughter Matilda Beverly Frances, Mayfair-Ceres Medical Center has announced, alongside official spokespersons from the office of the Vice President.

One of the many current children of the elite DeWynter family, baby Matilda is currently the forth upcoming shareholder to the families wealth, as the child is closest to the original family bloodline, after her cousins Caesar, Katharine and Dazzle DeWynter respectfully.

The DeWynter family amassed a large net worth due to the families lengthy history in the development of early Panem. Many ancestors already amassed large amounts of wealth before the nations conception, along with holding key government jobs such as District overseers and federal judges. Recent historical involvement with military affairs and valuable natural resources only intensified the families social reign over the nation.

The first name “Matilda” seems to be a nod towards Maltilda Newnham DeWynter, Panem’s first Chief Justice. The middle “Beverley” a reference to the sister the Vice President had lost due to stillbirth. The last, “Frances” refers to Gretchen Frances, Panem’s first female General of the Peacekeeper Armies during the Dark Days and an ancestor to the Vice President.

Conceived via surgery, there is much speculation to whom may have fathered the baby. Reasons for the method of conception are unknown, as the Vice President seems to be on the arms of many socialites across the city and the more affluent Districts.

This is the first in six months, that the media has gotten a chance to take photos of the newborn baby as gifts continue to flood in.

Q: Madame Vice President, how do you feel about Matilda finally being here?

Viondra: (Flatly.) Elated. Now I can finally have my mai tai’s and take a drag when I please.

Q: Aren’t you worried about a potential sheltered upbringing?

Viondra:  (Scoffing.) The child will be fine. Who needs interaction when she has money in one hand and power in the other. She can worry about interaction once she’s made something of herself.

Matilda continues to tie as the #1 baby name in the Capitol, pinned up against “Joyceta” and “Francisco”. A grand majority of Victor names such as “Zenobia” and “Germanicus” among many others continue to be the bees knees.
